Research articles

  1. In January 2025, Professor Zeman has published a new in the scientific journal Cortex, entitled "Definition: Aphantasia". Find out more about this article on Our research page.  

  2. In August 2025, we have submitted 2 articles about the VIA to a scientific journal:

    1. One article focuses on whether there are different kinds of aphantasia
    2. One article describes the lived experience of aphantasia

  3. In September 2025, Dr Digard has presented a poster describing the imagery profiles of autistic people (from the VIA study) to the Autism Europe Congress 2025.

Outreach and the media

  1. The big news this month (September 2025) is the release of this very website! Our research team has migrated from the University of Exeter to the University of Edinburgh, and we finally have an Edinburgh-University website to share with you! Have a look at our content and do not hesitate to get in touch.
  2. Professor Zeman has been interviewed in the Hyperfixed podcast, in an episode entitled "Third Eye Blind", released in August 2025. Find out more about it on the Media coverage page.
  3. In March 2025, we were interviewed for an exciting article in a US-based weekly society magazine. The article will be available in a few weeks (September to November 2025). Come back soon for updates!
