RESTORE findings

We expect to publish our impact report at the end of July 2026.

Creating impact

RESTORE adopts a researcher-centric approach, with researchers and their lived experience being at both the centre of our methodology and our findings and recommendations. We have also adopted a collaborative approach across our three institution and established strong links amongst research integrity professionals to build and develop a community that is learning from one and other.

Through the openness and collegiality of this collaboration, we have been able to develop our collective thinking around the research misconduct process, which in turn will translate into the development of our institutional policies and procedures.

RESTORE has an ethos of engaging with the wider community. We are keen to share our findings and develop recommendations and guidance in conversation and collaborations with experts around the UK. We seek to contribute to the sector-wide conversation around research misconduct and integrity, and to share our collective knowledge.

This knowledge is still developing and RESTORE is only the first step, but we are keen to share as we go and together build empathy and kindness into the research misconduct process, and ultimately, promote a human-centric approach to support.

The RESTORE Impact Report

The RESTORE project will conclude at the end of July 2026. Shortly after this date, we will be publishing our findings in a short, impact report.

The RESTORE impact report will set out the aims and research questions of the RESTORE project, and briefly detail the project methodology. The main focus of the report will be a number of key findings that communicate the evidence RESTORE has generated from the cross-institutional survey and in-depth interviews conducted with those who have experience of the research misconduct process. Finally, the report will highlight a series of recommendations to start generating action.
