This year Science Insights took place online in response to the global pandemic.

In 2019, for the first time, we invited previous participants, Science Insights Alumni 2014 – 2018, to return for a reunion event in June, as part of our programme of events for the MRC Festival of Medical Research 2019.

Niamh Armstrong was part of our first cohort of Science Insighters, back in 2014. When we invited her to our 2019 reunion she wrote back to say sorry she couldn't be there, because she was graduating from the University of Glasgow! Here Niamh reflects on her experience.

My interest in applying for Science Insights 2018 was sparked by an email from ‘Access to the Professions’ in which the experience was outlined and praised as a great opportunity.  

I applied to the Science Insights program because I wanted to have a better idea about what I was going to study at University.
