About us

The CEP offers a suite of clinical education courses that are designed to develop the teaching skills of clinicians and academics who teach University of Edinburgh medical students and postgraduate medical trainees in south-east Scotland.

Our goal is to promote, deliver and maintain excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education in line with Advance HE Professional Standards Framework (2023) and the Academy of Medical Educators' Professional Standards for medical, dental and veterinary educators (2014). Specifically, the CEP aims to:

· provide accessible routes through which faculty and staff can enhance their teaching skills and knowledge

· guide and facilitate the development of a skilled educator community in Southeast Scotland

· increase the motivation and satisfaction of faculty as educators

· give nationally-accredited recognition to those who can demonstrate proficiency in the educator role (Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy - AFHEA).
