Eligibility and registration

Who is eligible to participate?

  • You teach University of Edinburgh Medical School students
  • You  supervise trainees within Southeast Scotland Deanery
  • You work clinically in one of the NHS boards that take Edinburgh Medical School students (Ayrshire & Arran, Dumfries & Galloway, Forth Valley, Lanarkshire, NSS/BTS, state hospital, Highland, Western Isles).

 

Named GMC supervisor role?

You may choose to select courses:

  • Clinical supervisor
    • courses 1 - 4 plus a teaching observation and feedback session (TOF)
  • Educational supervisor/undergraduate teaching roles
    •  courses 1-6 plus TOF

Certificate of completion

  • Your certificate of completion will be issued upon successful engagement of all CEP activities (Framework Areas 1-7)
  • Your certificate will be valid for 5 years from date of issue

Lapsed Certificates

I have a named educational role

  • You should continue to record teaching activity on the Scottish Online Appraisal Resource (SOAR). 

Further study upon completion

Those who are interested in developing their educational abilities further may undertake further study via a course entitled Clinical Education in Practice.
