Science & Film: Dark Star

Join us for Dark Star (1974), the low key indie debut from John Carpenter and Dan O'Bannon, now a cult classic.

Before John Carpenter directed Halloween and The Thing, and before Dan O’Bannon penned Alien and The Return of the Living Dead, the duo teamed up to make Dark Star, a gleefully gonzo sci-fi satire.

The screening is part of Science and Film series created to mark 300 years of medical education at the University of Edinburgh. The films invite us to think and explore science and health and how it shapes our lives. The film will include introductions and a post screen blether with three researchers from the University of Edinburgh.
