Student Support team The Student Support team is available to any student who requires additional support for any reason. They will arrange individual student meetings, providing support and guidance on services available to you and strategies to help maintain your wellbeing. They also support and run a number of wellbeing initiatives and coordinate the Student Ambassador scheme. The Student Support team works with the Medical Teaching Organisation (MTO) and in close liaison with other wellbeing teams across the University to ensure a positive student experience. Your student advisor will be your named contact throughout your time at university, ensuring continuous support and follow-up. They are committed to ensuring that your concerns are addressed, and they will verify whether you receive the required services or if your query has been resolved satisfactorily. Their dedication and expertise make them a valuable resource when you are seeking support and guidance. In cases of crisis or when formal support like therapy or counselling is required, your student adviser will facilitate direct access to relevant services within the University. If you feel uncomfortable reaching out to your designated student advisor, an alternative option is to directly email the Student Support Manager, who will offer the necessary support. The team also maintains close connections with the Advice Place and University Student Wellbeing Advisers, who offer similar support but may not possess the in-depth knowledge of a specific school and its programmes that student advisors possess. Programme administrators Your Programme Administrator is your first point of contact for any issue. This includes attendance, absence, teaching materials, timetabling queries, and many other things. They are also there for your pastoral needs, and may signpost you to someone who is able to provide more specialist advice, such as applying for special circumstances, interruption of studies, or linking in with individual support by the Student Support team.
