Inaugural lecture: Food, Fowl and Family

Professor Ian Dunn is Professor of Avian Biology at the Roslin Institute. His expertise is centred on avian reproduction. He researches the development of the reproductive system in female birds, including laying eggs and the impacts of reproduction on bird biology. Professor Dunn will share his experience working to create and implement solutions to production and welfare issues in the poultry industry.

Professor Lindsay Jaacks is Personal Chair of Global Health and Nutrition at the Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Systems. In her lecture, she will explore "Eating for our tomorrows: A vision for a Good Food Planet – and how to realise it." She will discuss her research into issues with our global food systems, and suggest ways to work toward a more sustainable future.

Professor Adam Tjolle is the Chair of General Veterinary Practice at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies. His talk will cover his eventful 25-year journey in veterinary practice and the hopeful road ahead - bringing the joy and the genius he learnt from his colleagues, clients and most importantly their animals, into the education of the vets of future.
