Edinburgh Neuroscience

Integrating basic and clinical research, Edinburgh Neuroscience advances understanding, diagnostics and therapeutics of diseases of the nervous system.

Edinburgh Neuroscience is an integrated and interdisciplinary research structure facilitating interaction between researchers across groups, centres, schools and colleges, working at all levels of neuroscience - from molecules through synapses and networks to cognition and behaviour.

Our major strategic goal has been to bring together psychology, psychiatry and neuroscience to target our basic and translational research on two of the key challenges for 21st century neuroscience: how does the human brain develop and function across the lifespan, and how can it be protected and repaired?
