Training checklists

Training is required for all work activities until individuals are deemed competent. There are a number of mandatory H&S training courses which all staff and students must complete. Additional training requirements will be task and/or role specific, and will depend upon the hazards associated with work activities (see relevant training checklist). Task/ role specific training is mandatory if the risk assessment for the work activity identifies it is necessary. 

The training matrix below are for Principle Investigators, Line Managers, Laboratory Workers and Office Workers, detailing mandatory and role specific training requirement.

 

Where to find your training courses

LOCAL

Local training is delivered by your PI, local manager and/or H&S officer

Other courses can be arranged on demand such as risk assessment, spill management, etc. Please contact efe.scott@ed.ac.uk to arrange these.
