Public Engagement with research describes the many ways we can share College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine (CMVM) research with the public and listen in response. It is a two-way process that enables change and has mutual benefit. High-quality engagement can enhance the impact of research.

CMVM public engagement with research approach

The University of Edinburgh Inform and Inspire pages provide resources for activity that aims to share your research findings or inspire people to take an interest in your work. This could be delivering events, taking part in our festivals programmes or producing online content such as blogs and videos. It also provides information and resources to include people in all stages of the research process for example through advisory groups, co-production, participatory research, citizen science or public and patient involvement and engagement (PPIE).

Engaging with the community

There are many opportunities to engage with the public within Edinburgh. The cross-University community engagement forum connects you with other University staff and students interested in engaging with the public locally to share best practices with one another and find out how to get involved with community engagement activities.
