The College runs activities throughout the year where you can meet our researchers, explore our research and discuss its impact on health and society. 

Events and activities vary from year to year, but there is also an annual programme of events, listed below.

Brain Awareness WeekWorkshops run by Edinburgh Neuroscience to introduce Primary 7 pupils to the basic structure of the brain.March
Edinburgh Science FestivalThe College runs several events as part of the festival, with the aim to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to discover the world around them.April, May, July
MRC Festival of Medical ResearchCollege units, centres and institutes funded by the Medical Research Council (MRC) showcase and discuss their work through events and activities.June
Royal Highland ShowActivities, displays and information about the research, clinical and teaching work at the University of Edinburgh’s Easter Bush Campus. Run by The Roslin Institute and The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies.June
Cabaret of Dangerous IdeasCoDI drags academics out of their ivory towers to debate today’s burning issues and cutting edge research with audiences at the Stand Comedy Club. Part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.August

Edinburgh Medical DebateEdinburgh Medical School and Edinburgh Medical Students’ Council host an annual debate around topical issues in healthcare. The panels typically includes representatives of the student body and experts in the relevant field.Autumn
