Let's Talk About Health: The first 1000 days. How stressful events before and shortly after birth can shape the rest of your life.

Did you know that your development whilst in the womb can shape your health in the future? We now know that environmental factors such as stress and the consequent release of stress hormones can cause changes in the developing baby. These can have long lasting consequences, predisposing an individual to health problems in later life such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, as well as depression, schizophrenia and memory problems.  Join us to hear about how stress causes this health risk to the developing baby, and our research into why these unwanted effects may occur.
