Dolly the sheep: major discovery or minor distraction?

20 years after her birth, Dolly the Sheep is a scientific and Scottish icon. However, she was only ever a small part of a much bigger research programme and the cloning technique used to produce her has now been overtaken by newer, better technologies. So should we still be talking about Dolly or should we follow science’s example and just move on?

Join University of Edinburgh researchers Professor Helen Sang (Roslin Institute), Dr Tilo Kunath (MRC Centre for Regenerative Medicine) and Dr Miguel Garcia Sancho Sanchez (School of Social and Political Science) to debate whether Dolly has a place in the 21st century or if she should be consigned to the history books. Part of the Cabaret of Dangerous Ideas run by the Beltane Network and The Stand comedy club.

Tickets will be available when the Fringe programme is released on Wednesday 8th June.  Finalised start and end time to be confirmed.
