Careers Beyond Academia - Wednesday 30th November 2022 We will take a three‐step approach: [1] self‐reflection and review of your career story to date; [2] opportunity awareness and horizon scanning, as we assess what is known about ‘postac’ career paths; and [3] presenting yourself to employers outside academia. It’s not realistic that if you are uncertain about your next steps, you will come to a fixed and final decision in the course of this, or any, workshop. But in career terms, indecision – the state of being not yet decided – is not necessarily a bad thing, provided that we know how to approach our decision‐making in an informed, robust, self‐aware manner. That is the goal of this workshop. The session will be facilitated by Dr Steve Joy. Steve is a Leadership and Career Consultant with over thirteen years’ experience in supporting research students and staff at all levels.
