Bryan Conway

Bryan is an exceptional teacher and clinician who has made a lasting impact on the lives of hundreds of students. His passion for teaching and dedication to helping the next generation of clinicians is inspiring, and his ability to demystify complex topics, such as kidney function, has earned him a reputation as a pillar of the medical curriculum. 

 

Originally from Northern Ireland, Bryan completed his clinical training in nephrology in Belfast before moving to Edinburgh, where he has continued to excel as a researcher and educator. His research focuses on using multi-omic approaches to understand chronic kidney disease, and he is committed to training the next generation of clinical academics. 

 

As the Academy of Medical Sciences INSPIRE lead and co-lead of the Scottish Specialised Foundation programme, Bryan is shaping the future of medical education and research. His enthusiasm for teaching is evident in his organisation of the renal module of the undergraduate medical school curriculum, and his legacy will continue to inspire and motivate students for years to come.
