Kabie has contributed to autism research and advocacy for over a decade, playing a transformative role in both scholarship and community action. They have supported multiple Edinburgh Medical School research projects as a participant, community advisor, consultant, co-production team member, and most recently as a student and co-author, consistently enhancing research quality, recruitment, analysis, and impact.
 
An autistic advocate working nationally and internationally, Kabie co-founded the Autism Rights Group Highland (ARGH) and the National Autistic Taskforce (NAT), championing the rights of autistic people, including those with very high support needs and co-occurring intellectual disability. Drawing on their lived experience as an autistic person and single parent to multiple autistic children, Kabie brings depth and authenticity to their work.
 
In 2023, they completed an MSc by Research, producing impactful work on autistic parenting now informing legal advocacy. Recognised by the Scottish and UK Governments, Kabie has helped raise the profile of autistic rights and contributed to the development of landmark legislation in Scotland.
