Jane Hislop

Having graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1997 with an MSc in Community Health, Jane has worked in higher education since 2001.

Currently, Jane works as a senior lecturer and programme director for the postgraduate certificate in Simulation Based Clinical Education. The cert prepares students for clinical education careers involving simulation-based learning. Following this, in 2024, Jane coordinated the committee for a national symposium conference which was held at Edinburgh Medical School. 

Jane also leads the University's summer school in Clinical Education, which brings together clinical educators from around the globe into Edinburgh Medical School's community.

Jane’s students have admired her ethos of fostering a compassionate, learner-centred education. Past students have cited how Jane's deeply-held commitment has extended to support long after graduation.
