Gill Aitken

Gill is the Dean of Education at Edinburgh Medical School, where she has taught thousands of postgraduate students over the past 15 years. 

As a dedicated educator, she has encouraged her students to develop as educators in their own right, and has been instrumental in sharing the benefits of an Edinburgh education with colleagues around the globe through online teaching. 

Gill's exceptional teaching and mentorship have earned her a Personal Chair, and she continues to support and mentor others in their own development. Her leadership and commitment to education have made a lasting impact on the Medical School, and she is a shining example of the institution's values. 

With her kind and rigorous approach to mentorship, Gill has inspired countless students, including those she has supervised, to grow and thrive in their academic pursuits.
