Headshot of Gracie Taylor
Gracie first connected with the University of Edinburgh through the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine's Science Insights work experience programme in 2020 – a programme that gives 5th year high school pupils an insight into the role of research scientists.

What began as a week of online engagement became a lasting partnership. Since then, Gracie has volunteered her time each year to support the programme.

Born and raised in Edinburgh, Gracie was diagnosed with Silver Russell Syndrome by the team at the Institute of Genetics and Cancer. In 2023, she returned to Edinburgh to co-chair the “Shining a Light on Silver Russell Syndrome” event for Rare Disease Day bringing together an international audience to share stories and raise awareness.

Gracie completed her studies in biomedical sciences at UCL in 2024 and now works in a marketing role within the pharmaceutical industry. She also supports several charities, including the Child Growth Foundation and Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. As both a patient and partner of Edinburgh Medical School, Gracie continues to champion access to life-changing medicines for people living with rare conditions.
