Elaine Fairchild

Elaine is a dedicated and compassionate member of the Edinburgh Medical School community, having worked in professional services since 2009. She has supported students in undergraduate medicine, oral health sciences, and postgraduate clinical education, and since 2018, has been a student adviser in Student Support in Medical Education. 

Elaine is proud of her contributions to the school, particularly in supporting students through the MBChB programme and developing initiatives to build community and provide support during challenging times, such as the pandemic. She has been recognised for her outstanding work, including winning a 2022 Staff Recognition Award for developing the MBChB Newsletter and collaborative initiatives like the 'Back to Nature' and 'Inspiring Doctor' series. 

Elaine's commitment to student wellbeing and her ability to facilitate integration and development of university systems and procedures has made a lasting impact on the school.
