Capital Conversations x Edinburgh Medical School 300 with Jasmin Paris

Jasmin Paris MBE is an ultra-marathon runner and veterinarian at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at the University of Edinburgh.

In 2024, she became the first woman ever to complete the legendary Barkley Marathons, widely regarded as one of the toughest endurance events in the world. Jasmin completed the gruelling 100-mile race within the strict 60-hour time limit, becoming just one of 20 people to finish the race in its 38-year history.

Her remarkable achievements in endurance running also include summiting 29 Munros within 24 hours - setting the women’s record for the most Munros climbed in a single day; and being the first woman to win the 268 mile Spine Race - beating the all-time men's course record by 12 hours.

Join us for an inspiring and relaxed conversation with Jasmin as she reflects on resilience, endurance, balancing elite sport with academic life, and the mindset required to take on some of the world’s toughest challenges. The discussion will be followed by an audience Q&A.
