Her efforts, together with Karen Chapmen, have been pivotal in the school’s successful engagement with the Athena SWAN Charter, to acknowledge commitment to advancing the careers of women in STEMM fields. Through her leadership, Edinburgh Clinical Medical School obtained Bronze Athena SWAN award in 2014 and then silver in 2016 through the development and implementation of strategies that foster an inclusive and supportive environment, encouraging the progression and retention of women and underrepresented groups.
