Aisha Holloway is Professor of Nursing Studies and Co-Director of Edinburgh Global Nursing Initiative. She joined the University of Edinburgh in 2012 and currently holds several roles including the Government Chief Nursing Officer for Scotland. Aisha is also an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, and a fellow of both the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI).

Contributing to the nursing profession on an international scale, Aisha is the Programme Director for the Nursing Now Challenge, the world's largest global community network of early career nurses, midwives, and students. She co-founded the Edinburgh Global Nursing Initiative alongside Professor Liz Grant, enhancing collaborative efforts between Nursing Studies and the Global Health Academy.

Throughout her 30-year career, her research has primarily focused on public health and alcohol, with a strong emphasis on health policy and political nurse leadership, particularly in randomised controlled trials and health behaviour change. Aisha's work extends to influential roles on several governmental and non-governmental boards and committees, including the Scottish Ministerial Taskforce for Nursing & Midwifery and the State of the World's Nursing Steering Committee.

Aisha is committed to empowering early career nurses, fostering their leadership skills and enhancing their ability to influence policy for a global impact. She advocates for the importance of mentorship and strategic development in nursing.
