These include helping at the very popular public open days at the Anatomical Museum and also as the Edinburgh representative for the Royal Medical Benevolent Fund, a UK-wide charity that provides financial help to medical students, doctors and their families in need. Helmut is excited to be a buddy leader volunteer in the Medical Peer Support Buddy programme, offering wellbeing support to new Year 1 students as they transition into university life.Helmut is passionate about student societies and is closely involved in the Royal Medical Society (RMS), the oldest student society at Edinburgh Medical School. As part of the RMS student council he helps organise different events for members and fellow students. Helmut is also part of the Edinburgh Medical School 300 student experience team and is actively involved in the organisation of the student societies showcase in November 2026.
