The team will also be gathering alumni words of encouragement for students graduating in 2026 through handwritten postcards which will be shared at graduations. Share your congratulatory words and make a new Edinburgh Medical School graduate smile!

Are you or your class group thinking of making a donation in 2026 or beyond? Our Philanthropy team will also be available at this stand to answer your questions about making gifts of all kinds to the University.

  • Edinburgh Medical School 300 Merchandise shop

Did you know that our student-designed Edinburgh Medical School tartan was launched earlier this year? Visit our merchandise shop to purchase Edinburgh Medical School 300 items, including all of our newest commemorative products. Here, you can also find out more exciting Edinburgh Medical School 300 activities that are being planned for this year.

  • Edinburgh Medical School 300 Archival Research Display

As part of the Edinburgh Medical School 300 project, we have been looking back through our archives to understand how student life has evolved over time. Synapse, the official medical student magazine running from the 1940s to the 1990s, provides a vivid record of this evolution, capturing changing university experiences, current affairs, concerns, and voices within the community of the medical school. The display highlights some of the most impactful contributions to the magazine.

  • Edinburgh Medical School 300 Digital Hub

Explore the future role of technology in teaching at our Edinburgh Medical School 300 ‘Digital Hub’. Based in one of the historic wards of the Old Royal Infirmary, the team will invite you to take part in our memory capture activity and try out our VR (Virtual Reality) technology.

  • Reducing Single-Use Plastics in NHS Scotland

This PhD project is part of the Wellcome Trust funded After the Single Use project, an exciting collaborative of historians, anthropologists and social scientists exploring single-use healthcare products (syringes, drapes, gowns, gloves, medical devices) around the world. Current PhD student Dani's project is focused on NHS Scotland and explores how these products became embedded in the Scottish Healthcare system, what they mean to those who encounter them and what work is being to resist and reduce reliance on single-use healthcare plastics.

Lunchtime session only (12:15 - 14:30)
