Christopher Wilson

Christopher Wilson is a deputy facility manager at a University of Edinburgh animal house.

 

Taking his first job as a cage washer at age 17, Chris joined the University as an animal technician in 2014. He now trains technicians and researchers, resulting in both better animal welfare and better experiments. He also contributes to the Animal Welfare and Ethical Review Board.

 

Chris brings a “can do” attitude to the animal house and colleagues describe him as supportive and optimistic.

 

Animal research has been key to the development of medicine. Despite the rise of many alternatives, it still plays a significant role in research into complex diseases.
