Aya Riad

Aya is a graduate of the MBChB programme at Edinburgh Medical School. During her time at the university, she was convener of the Medical Students Council and was one of many people who helped guide the school through the COVID pandemic.  

She is currently a foundation year 1 doctor, working in London, focusing on surgery and innovation and is attached to the Surgery & Cancer Unit at Imperial College London.

She is particularly interested in global surgery and big data, and has experience of running international multi-centre cohort studies and coding using R.
