Andrew is a sport and exercise medicine consultant and an inspiring figure in the world of sports medicine and physical activity advocacy.

 Based at the University of Edinburgh, he has a distinguished profile both as a medical professional and an accomplished athlete. Graduating with a PhD from the University’s Usher Institute in 2018, Andrew has been contributing to Edinburgh Medical School since 2012.

He has worked at major international sporting events including the Olympics, Paralympics, Commonwealth Games, the Ryder Cup, and the Tour de France. His role extends beyond clinical practice; he is actively involved in promoting physical activity as a fundamental aspect of public health. Appointed as the Scottish Government's Physical Activity Champion, he influences health policies and practices concerning physical fitness and health.

Andrew is also a marathon and ultra-marathon runner. Notably, he ran 2659 miles from John o' Groats to the Moroccan Sahara and completed seven ultra-marathons across seven continents in just one week. These feats highlight his commitment to demonstrating the health benefits of physical activity.

In addition to his athletic and professional roles, Andrew is a respected author and speaker, having published numerous scientific papers and the book "Running Beyond Limits."
