Pia Wahi-Singh is a specialty foundation program doctor and honorary clinical fellow at the University of Edinburgh.

Pia graduated with an MBChB from Edinburgh Medical School in 2025 and is pursuing a career in academic gynaecology. She is currently leading a research project in Professor Hilary Critchley's lab to understand the effects of abnormal menstruation on university students, presenting her findings at the MIT Menstruation Science Moonshot conference in Boston.

Pia was the President of the Association of Women Surgeons Edinburgh for five years, co-hosted the Association of Women Surgeons European conference three times and led the society to being shortlisted for the "Making a Difference" EUSA Student Award. She also held the position of Women's Officer at the University of Edinburgh from 2023-2024, representing over 25,000 women students and meeting with the Scottish Government Women's Health team to discuss young women's unique needs. 

Pia has written about women's rights, winning the national Women's Medical Federation Katherine Branson Essay Prize for her essay on systemic gender bias in healthcare. Her efforts as a student were recognised with the Edinburgh University Students Association Outstanding Leadership Student Award and a place on the GENDER.Ed Feminist Trailblazer shortlist.
