Chloe Kippen has been a pivotal figure in advancing medical research and community wellbeing through her role as Director of Philanthropy and College Advancement at the University of Edinburgh. Her career at the University began in 2002, and since then, she has played a crucial role in securing funding for several key research centres under Edinburgh Neuroscience. These include the Euan MacDonald Centre for Motor Neuron Disease Research and the Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic.

Chloe’s efforts have not only been limited to funding research facilities; she has also been instrumental in recognising historical contributions, as seen in her involvement with the Edinburgh 7 celebration, which honoured the first group of female students to matriculate at a British university. Additionally, she contributed to the development of the Queen’s Medical Research Institute (QMRI), her first fundraising project at the University, which she continues to support.

Throughout her career, Chloe has raised over £150 million, significantly impacting areas like epilepsy, ovarian cancer research, and neurological conditions. Her commitment extends beyond her professional role: she has also contributed personally by participating in activities like the Edinburgh Marathon Relay, raising funds directly for the causes she supports.

Chloe also dedicates her time to the Greyfriars Charteris Centre, emphasising her commitment to community, connection and wellbeing. Her approach to philanthropy and advancement is driven by a deep-seated desire to enhance medical capabilities and improve lives.
