Oluseye is an academic and educator in the field of surgery and biomedical sciences at the University of Edinburgh. Originally from Nigeria and now based in Dunfermline, Fife, Oluseye has a PhD in bio-membranes, cell signalling, and enzymology from the University of Birmingham.

With a research career spanning over three decades, he has held post-doctoral roles in cellular pharmacology. Since his start at the Edinburgh Medical School in 2018, Oluseye has made significant contributions to surgical education and research.

He serves as the deputy programme director and academic cohort lead for the ChM in general surgery programme. In addition, Oluseye leads the Edinburgh Surgery Online global outreach strategy, aimed at expanding access to surgical education worldwide, especially in low- and middle-income countries. He also organises the Academic Surgery Journal Club for undergraduates, helping develop their skills in critical appraisal and engagement with clinical research.

Oluseye is involved in several committees and boards within the university, contributing to the academic and ethical standards of medical education at Edinburgh. His work is focused on enhancing surgical education accessibility globally
