Chris is an educator and leader in digital medical education who has made a strong contribution to teaching and student support at Edinburgh Medical School.

Originally from Glasgow, he moved to Edinburgh 15 years ago for a short-term role that developed into a long-term career and home. Chris helped establish and lead the Digital Education Unit, supporting both staff and students to use new approaches to teaching and learning effectively. He has worked closely with students on the MSc in the Clinical Management of Pain, guiding them through demanding programmes and helping them build confidence in their skills.

His approach focuses on clear communication, timely support, and practical problem-solving, especially during high-pressure periods. Students have highlighted his consistent encouragement and reliability, noting how his guidance helped them balance complex academic commitments. Alongside his work with students, Chris has also supported colleagues in developing their own teaching and educational projects. His work reflects a commitment to improving learning experiences and helping others succeed within the medical school community.
