She graduated from Edinburgh Medical School in 2007 and went on to work in Christchurch Women’s Hospital in New Zealand before commencing her obstetrics and gynaecology training on her return to Edinburgh. Lucy holds four degrees from the University of Edinburgh and alongside her work as a clinical consultant, she also runs a research group in the Institute for Regeneration and Repair.Lucy’s research focuses on diagnostics and clinical trials to support precision care in endometriosis. Both her clinical and research work focuses on improving the lives and treatments for those living with endometriosis and pelvic pain. Lucy is described as a fantastic advocate for women's health and is continually working to raise the profile of endometriosis and the need for further funding in the field.Lucy is proud of resurrecting the Edinburgh University Surgical Society, including practical anatomy and surgical skills sessions and the many student projects she has supervised over the years, as well as students on their clinical attachments.
